((OOC: OMG I ONLY HAVE ONE EYE RIGHT NOW!!))
"Yes more."
Ginny gave him a bright smile.
"Like, do you like sports? Got any interests? That sorta thing."
20 questions, short and simple. Ginny wanted to know him as a person (who whatever). She didn't care what he was. She liked him, and had a feeling whatever this was would get less and less simple as the days went by. What if they never had the opportunity to find out stuff about each other like this?

"Besides this?" he murmured into the curve of her throat. He was kissing the slope of her shoulder as she continued, tugging the collar of her shirt down and tasting the freshness of her skin. He was quiet for a moment, sitting back and looping his arms loosely around her waist as he met her eyes, his own blues thoughtful as he chewed his lower lip.
"I have never been much of one for ground sports," he said, lips turning upward slightly, "But I do love to fly. It's probably the only thing that has kept me sane all my life. I studied aerodynamics and aeronautical engineering recently. That's what led me to my current occupation, actually..."
Blue eyes flickered back to hers as his large shoulders shrugged.
"I'm not very good at these sorts of games.."

"Nobody is good at these games. That's sorta the point, isn't it?"
Her eyes met his and she managed a small smile. "Surprise each other with random, seemingly inconsequential questions, and find out random things to form a better bond...right?"
She slipped off his lap and began gathering up the dishes. She carried them to the sink and carefully set them in, rinsing them and placing them aside to worry about later.
"Next question, do you have brothers or sisters?"

No one was good at these games?
"Right..."
Xaver's eyes followed her as she moved away, hesitating only until she'd begun rinsing the dishes. Enough moments to gather his thoughts and admire her backside properly. He slipped up behind her soundlessly, crouching down and opening the cabinet door beneath the sink. Grabbing the bottle of dish soap he rose and nudged her aside with his hip, nudging the faucet back on with his elbow.
"I do," he said absently.
He soaked the sponge from the bottom of the sink then squeezed some soap out onto it, wringing it until it was a bubbly mess and then digging into the little pile of dishes. It was a few moments before he turned his head back to her.
"Sister and brother. Kylie and Xences, respectively."

Ginny turned to watch him, her hip against the counter as she watched him wash the dishes.
She missed her own siblings. She hadn't seen them in a long time, although occasionally she got a letter from home. She missed her parents, now that she thought about it.
She watched him as he wiped the dishes off, her eyes on him, her mind back home. She pulled herself out of that, though.
"Was there ever anybody serious?"

He scrubbed plates and silverware with a detailed patience, allowing the scent of her and the simple, mundane task to ease the natural distrust of the personal topics from his shoulders. It was easy to feel uncomfortable - easier still, to shut her down as he was often apt to do. To shut himself up and answer? Xaver had to wonder where the will to allow it all was coming from. There was connection enough between them, sure, but she was still human. He could only but wonder where all this was leading to.
She didn't know who he was. What he truly was. Ignorance was perhaps truly blissful. Innocence, perhaps the key to the greatest measure of honesty he had unveiled to anyone outside his direct, limited circle of close ones.
"From time to time," Xaver responded with a half smile.
He placed the last dish in the rack, and started on the remaining forks.

"From time to time, huh?"
She gave him a small laugh, and some small part of her wanted to needle him with a million questions about his past sex life. But she held her tongue and watched him finish up the dishes, appreciating that he was doing it at all.
She had cooked for a lot of people. No one had ever even offered to help clean up before.
Ginny thought for a moment, but couldn't think of another question.

Xaver grinned at Ginny's laugh, looking back down and quickly finishing up. He placed the last utensil in the rack then wrung out the sponge, washing his large hands then snagging a towel from the hook by his head and drying them. He shifted in front her with slow, collected movements, a small smile tilting his mouth. He planted a hand on the counter on either side of her, effectively closing her in.
"Yes. From time to time. But I am alone now. That's what matters, no?" His grin was decidedly wolfish. "Any more questions, milady?"
The towel slipped from beneath his hand as he edged closer, pressing against her until there was nothing between their forms but the little amount of clothes they had donned earlier. From thighs to chest she was a warm, intoxicating presence. Xaver lifted a hand and tucked a red lock of hair behind her ear.
"Or is it my turn?"

He closed in on her, their bodies touching. She didn't feel trapped or threatened. She felt comforted by his closeness. She placed a hand on his chest, over his heart. She liked the way she could feel it.
"Your turn."
She returned his smile.
"Ask me anything and I will answer it."

His dark blue orbs fell to her hand as she laid it over his chest, his heart beneath strumming almost giddily in response. The smile that tilted his lips broadened slightly.
"Anything, mmm?"
He tilted his head, the movement decidedly bird-like. More questions than he could fathom crowded his thoughts, a sudden curiosity taking hold. He all but let out a breath to calm the swarm, deciding to start slow.
"What's your favorite flower?"

Ginny closed her eyes, trying to remember what her mother had called those flowers.
"Lily-of-the-valley. They are these white little bulbs that grow near my parent's home. They are very peaceful. My mother once said the name stood for 'sweetness'."
She smiled and opened her eyes, her hand sliding down, off his chest, and settling on the counter.

He stored the flower into his memory for later, picturing the little flower in his head and wondering at it.
"As your name should," he said softly, never above flattery.
His eyes followed the trail of her hand, his skin all but fluttering beneath her touch.
"Where is this, your parents' home? What are their names? Do you have siblings?"

"The edge of the suburbs. The middle of nowhere. We are one of the last towns close to the city."
She recalled the small town she had grown up in. A poor town. Her house hadn't been big enough for all of them.
"Grace and Andrew..." Ginny's voice got soft. Her parents had been loving. they had tried so hard to keep Ginny away from Larus. Larus was the one who had convinced her to come to the city. Her mother had cried the evening Ginny had told them she was leaving.
"I have four brothers and a little sister."
She poked Xaver suddenly, "Which means I could kick your butt."

Xaver knew a few of those areas. It intrigued him, to say the least. Everything about her intrigued him.
"Five?"
The surprise in his heavily lilted tones was almost overrun by amusement. She poked him, then, and at her proclamation he let the laughter stirring bubble up and out unchecked.
"You think so, huh?" Xaver grinned. "I wouldn't want to put that one to a test.."

Used to be six.
Ginny surprised herself by thinking darkly. She shoved the thought away, forcing her mind to behave.
He laughed and she was able to laugh too, thoroughly forgetting the dark thoughts.
"I know so, mister."
She slid her arms up around his neck, pulling him down slightly while also standing on her toes to rub her nose on his.
"Kick your butt from here to next week."
