Ginny finished wrapping the wing, gently tying the gauze off so it would stay put for a good while.
"I'm only here because he wasn't sure what to get from the store."
She went to the sink and began to wash the small amount of blood from her fingertips.
"You should have seen him, it was pretty funny, actually."

Kylie never cried out or winced outwardly though every touch and the slightest hint of pressure stung like a bitch, chewing on her tongue. When Ginny finished she resisted the urge to sigh in relief, murmuring a thanks and reaching for her forgotten shirt as the redhead went for the sink. She pulled it on over her arms and tied it loosely at her back beneath the junction of her wings, then tucked some stray hairs behind an ear.
"What was he doing?" she said, tones slightly incredulous. Kylie had seen her brother stressed but she had never known him to not have a solution to something. Eying the other woman's reflection in the mirror above the sink, she suddenly resolved that he hadn't been at a loss - he had found Ginny. Kylie idolized her brother. He was her hero and her best friend, and someday he would be her king. Tipping her head to the side, she swung her legs over the tub and began to slip her feet into her slippers.
"Why do you like Xaver?" Perhaps it was lingering paranoia, but Xaver was the only one in this world she actually loved and sudden worry for his safety and sanctity of mind was her utmost priority. There might be little she could do, but... "Is is because of who he is?"
It was a loaded question that Kylie didn't even realize wouldn't make sense if Ginny had no idea.

"Because of who he is?"
Ginny turned and leaned against the sink, watching the younger girl. Why did she like Xaver? And what did this girl mean ny who he was? Ginny only knew about him what he had revealed in their game if questions that bright morning.
She gave a slight shake of her head.
"He helped me."
She met Kylie's eyes.
"He had no idea who I was, if I was a good person or a bad person."
She looked up at the ceiling, remembering. She hadnt wanted to do that job.
"He helped me."
Again she looked at Kylie, pushing off from the sink and standing up straight.
"I don't know why I like him."

Kylie couldn't help but grin at that as she finished slipping into her slippers and stood back up. The pretty redhead, she realized, didn't have a clue about Xaver's status or position, and she still liked him. Xaver had always told her that somewhere in some world there was someone out there for everybody. Fallen believed in soul mates; Kylie, especially. She had never heard of a Fallen being linked by the soul to a human, but as she eyed the woman across her with an ever-growing grin, she began to hope. It might have been an innocent wistfulness, but she figured she liked Ginny anyway, so why not?
"Xav does that," she said cheesily, walking by her and opening the bathroom door more widely.
"Are you gunna stay for a while, Miss Ginny?"

Ginny follows her out the door, shrugging.
"I guess. Unless your brother wants me to to back to the office. But I'm pretty useless with this stupid sling."
Ginny was able to use her arm, but the doctor had told her not to, that it could cause irepairable damage to the nerves. She was tired of the sling, but thankfully only had another week left if the damnable thing.
"Did you eat lunch yet?"

Kylie snorted.
"Pffff.. not if what I hear is correct..."
Her grin led them back the way they'd come, back into the common room. Xaver was sprawled on the couch, head propped awkwardly on the arm and a heel on the ground, the majority of his body covered by Kylie's pink comforter. He was asleep, snoring softly, for all the world looking like the tired rings suddenly visible beneath his closed, heavily lashed eyes had gotten the better of him. He'd almost definitely been waiting for them, and had succumbed to the needs of his body.
"Ah, see? Pffff."
Kylie winked at Ginny, glancing at her arm then over her shoulder at her own wing.
"I guess we're meant to be best friends. Just got so much of the same stuff going on, anyway." She shrugged her shoulder and kept walking into the expensively furnished kitchen, opening the double-doored fridge as she licked her lips. "No, I haven't...."

Ginny paused beside the sleeping Xaver, unable to keep the small smile from turning up the corners of her lips. He looked at peace when asleep, and again she was reminded of that night they had spent together.
After a pause she followed Kylie into the kitchen. "I can make you something real quick if you aren't feeling up to it."
Ginny herself sometimes had cramps so bad all she wanted to do was lay on the couch all day.

Kylie smiled over her shoulder, finding she was happy to simply have someone to talk to.
"Nahh. Are you hungry?" She reached into the fridge and grabbed a handful of things to work with. "I am so hungry..."
She placed the stuffs on the fine marble counter and grinned as she dove into it, building a masterpiece of a sandwich.

"No, I just ate, I'm fine." Ginny shook her head, raising an eyebrow at the monster sandwich Kylie was creating. She leaned against one of the counters, giving the expensive kitchen a look.
She supposed she should have been prepared for this sort of luxury. Xaver did, after all, own his own company.
"How long have you been in St. Luthor?"

It was a sloppy, thick sandwich that was formed of multiple cheeses and meats. Sloping slightly and absolutely oozing condiments, she hoisted the lunch onto a glass plate and licked sticky fingers as she put everything away.
"I came here a few days ago from Lenity," she said over a little bite. "That's when those humans shot ne down."
Kylie munched thoughtfully for a moment.
"I've come here a few times before but never really talked to anybody but Xav... and certainly nobody like you."
She smiled.

"Like me?"
Ginny shook her head slightly at Kylie's leaning tower of sandwich before looking at her fully.
"Are you planning on staying long? You should make Xaver show you the sights."
There weren't a lot of impressive places in St. Luthor, but Ginny remembered being a teenage girl. Being stuck in this apartment must be driving her crazy.

Kylie dug into her sandwich with a groan of appreciation, juices spilling over her small fingers onto the plate. Once chewed and swallowed, she grinned widely.
"That's what I keep saying. He said once my wing is fixed up that he'll take me."
Kylie leaned a hip against the counter, careful of her wing, reloading her sandwich so that it sat up rightly again.
"Maybe we can go together. In the meantime you and Xav should go on a walkabout sightseeing.."
Nothing but mischief.

Ginny gave a noncomittal shrug at her second suggestion. Sight seeing? She eyed Kylie with raised eyebrows, wondering if the girl was trying something.
"Ive lived here for a few years," she said, "I've seen too much if this city."
