*This is my job?* Samantha thought to herself as she waited in a long line. The line was could have three people standing shoulder-to-shoulder and still have room to walk. There was a long railing of sorts made of a thick purple ribbon that marked off the edge of the sidewalk, and held the people in line.
Death, as she was often called, was wearing a short black dress with a "V" neck that plunged to her bust line. Her golden hair was curled beautifully around her head like a halo, and her silver jewlery seemed to glow in the soft moonlight.
Getting awefully tired of waiting, Sam sighed and started to push her way to the front of the line. When she was near the front, a bouncer dressed in all black blocked her way.
"Excuse me." She gave him a dazzling smile and took a card out of her hobo purse, carefull not to let him see inside of it. The card marked her as a government official. The bouncer looked at the card for a moment, then smiled at her and let her through.
"Thank you sir," She beamed, giving him another amazing smile. Walking past him she rolled her eyes.
As soon as she entered the large club, her ears were pounded with a loud, pulsing beat. It was packed with people, all of them wearing very revealing clothing or were considred beautiful enough to enter. Everything was white, and the dark lights bounced off of the furniture.
*How am I supposed to find anyone in here?* She thought to herself. She smiled at a passing man who was staring at her and started moving towards the other side of the room. One had to be very careful not to bump into another.
A lot of men smiled at her as she passed, but she just smiled in return and walked away. She wasn`t here for enjoying someone`s company, she had work to do. And little did those smiling men know that she was armed.
Two guns and a large knife were hidden in her purse. Four knives were in sheaths on her thighs, carefully hidden by the folds of the dress. She also had a small but powerfull gun hidden. She wouldn`t look to attractive if she had to fish it out, but you had to live, didn`t you?
No one had even guessed at her. No one suspected that the most dangerous assassin in the state had arrived.

Luke exited one of the private rooms on the upper floor, shutting the door behind him quietly and padding down the more or less silent hallway as he tucked his black button-down shirt back into his jeans, and readjusted his black jacket over his shoulders.
Less silent, given the screams and guttural cries of pleasure coming from the next door he passed. A bemused smile pressed into the contours of his mouth as he passed the last door of the hallway, and made his way through the glass entrance to the stairway, the thumping music of the club springing to a loud life as he descended.
Lukas loved the clubs. They brought out the best in his Wolf soul.
He chuckled softly to himself at the thought, his low tones lost to the music. Running his fingers through his hair to calm it slightly, he paused as he reached the floor, his always-hungry chocolate brown gaze searching. Appreciating. Mmmm. He loved Heavens.
He was seating himself on one of the vacant white leather chairs when he saw her. The blond, entering the club, wearing a dress that gave him far too many ideas. His gaze tracked her as she moved about the other beautiful and sweaty bodies, as she looked but didn't seem to find a soul she knew.
His smile was almost smug. Most wolves would have torn their clothes off (or went up to store them in a locker, then come back down significantly more naked), and went dancing. Looking at her across the floor, Luke's mouth pursed. Shame.
Slouching comfortably on the plush chair and propping his heels on the crystal table before him, he ordered a drink, and relaxed..

Samantha walked towards a wall and put her back to it. It was much easier to see everyone, and watch out for people that might try to harm her. Her blue-grey eyes scanned the room, but she managed to look nice while doing so. She had been trained, after all, and not all of the training was in self-defense.
Her eyes rolled over towards the area where comfortable white chairs were grouped. There were a few people sitting down, some with others on their laps. She ordered a drink from a passing worker and he scurried off to get it. She looked back at the chairs. There was one man there. She watched him from the corner of her eyes, pretending to watch some of the dancers.
He was staring her way. She was sure of that. She turned her head to face the man as she recieved her drink, and smiled at him as she took a sip. She was here to find someone who often came here. Someone might know who he is.
And it wouldn`t be the first time she had to rely on more than a knife or gun to ger information if it boiled down to that.

A waiter handed him his beer, and as Luke's hand closed over the chilled bottle, he passed the man a few crumpled bills. Leaning back as the other moved away, back into the swarm of warm and sweaty bodies, he raised the bottle to his lips and took a long, appreciative pull.
He was lowering it as she finally looked his way, and he didn't fight the small, sensual smile that tugged his lips as he found one over hers. His chocolate gaze fixed over her, skimming her slender length from across the room, appreciating her choice of clothing, and the way she'd done up her hair. He loved when women put up their hair - it left all the room in the world to come up from behind, and nuzzle into their soft, sweet-smelling necks..
Luke chuckled aloud, shaking his head and looking away from the pretty blond. He took another long drink, then set the empty bottle down on the table before him. He was far too horny, and had had a beer too many if he was getting interested in a Human. Even so, Luke kept the blond within his sharp peripherals.
He rose, snagging another beer from a passing waiter, and again, instinctively, his gaze transferred back to the blond. Succumbing to curiosity, he rested his weight on his heels, his tall, lean, powerful length pausing mid-floor. His free hand rose, and he curled his finger in her direction, in a slow and sexual come-hither. Adding please, in a small, curious grin.

As soon as the man met her eyes, her eyes sparkled slightly. She tilted her head to the side, as if she heard her name being called faintly. She lowered her eyes, slowly scanning over him until her eyes reached the floor. She was still smiling, but it was more of a smirk.
After a moment she raised her eyes again to find him standing. He took another beer from a waiter and looked back at her. His eyes saught her out before she could look away.
She sighed mentally. *You`re supposed to be working.* A part of her cursed in her mind. She smiled at herself. *But it isn`t often I meet someone attractive while I work.* It was true. Most of the creatures she saw were vampire or weres, taken over by their lust for blood, which is why she killed them. Maybe this man would know who she was looking for.
It was that thought that made her look up and see him motion to her.
She smiled again, the lights flashing against her perfect teeth. She took a sweeping glance around herself before setting off towards him, her heels clicking against the hard floor.
Within thity seconds she was just a couple feet from him. her grey-blue eyes sparkled again in the lighting.
"Hey." She greeted just loud enough to be heard by a human.

Her gaze raked him from head to toe, and Luke never moved, proud and comfortable in his own skin. He had to wonder, however, as she slowly began to make her way toward him, if she had any idea.. Any idea of what he was. What he could do.
Sure - he was kind of a simple guy. A simple Wolf. Took his beer and women and days hour by hour, never looking back or expecting anything of what was to come. He lived on the borders of prision and success. And he needed to drink more if the blond was approaching him, and all he could think of was his lifestyle.
Within the loud, thumping music, and the sounds roaring through the club, his sharp ears caught the sound of her heels clicking as she moved closer, each step an echo to the thud in his veins. Grey-blue eyes flashed up at him, and he met her smile with a small grin of his own.
"Hello," he returned easily, her voice more than loud enough for him to hear, watching her as he took another sip of his beer. "I haven't seen you around these parts before. Your first time in Heaven?"

Sam took a small drink of the fruity mixture she had ordered. The alcohol in it made her throat tingle, but it tasted good. She knew that she wasn`t going to get drunk, especially not while she was supposed to be working.
"Yes," She said in reply to his question, "A friend recommended it to me. Said it was a nice place, I had to come see if they were right." She let her gaze wander over him again, just like most women would. She was a marvelous actress. She had studied people for years, getting familiar with unconscious habits and movements that she could copy in the right situation. She had been lying for as logn as she could remember, and the company she worked for made sure that she could lie without anyone, or anything, detecting it.
She was just a little devil in heels with a nice smile. If the supernatural weren`t real, she would probably be the most dangerous thing in the state. Too bad her job was just as deadly as she was.
"Actually, I`m looking for someone." She lifted her eyes to meet his, tilting ehr head to the side slightly. "He comes here a lot, you might know him." The look she gave him was wandering and curious, and she looked rather cute that way. Like a child. Very innocent and charming. Like she could do no wrong.
Yeah, right.

"A friend recommended it to me. Said it was a nice place, I had to come see if they were right."
Even as she spoke, Lukas was silently thanking her friend and fending off the intuition that all was not as it seemed. The blond was charming enough, pretty enough - but there was an air, or lack therof, that should have had alarm bells ringing. Instead, curiosity rang, and interest piqued. Maybe it was the liquor. It was probably her smile.
"Actually, I`m looking for someone."
Luke didn't hide his low sigh of frustration. Of course she was looking for someone.
"He comes here a lot, you might know him."
He took another long pull of his beer, looked around them absently, then gave a shrug of his shoulder, offering her a lopsided grin.
"I come here often, too." His smile was wolfish. "But I'm not usually asked about others while I am."
In pure Luke-style, he gave another half-hearted shrug, and nodded toward an empty table. He made toward it, plopping into a chair.
"Who is he?"

Death smiled charmingly, her dark eyes sparkling in the light. She batted her eyes a couple times. She looked down at her drink and swirled her wrist around, making the liquid slosh against the side of the glass.
"He`s someone I work with. His name is Edvon Markis." She tilted her head again, letting her bangs fall in front of her face.
She did catch his sigh, however soft it was. "He owes me some money. Quite a bit actually. He got fired yesterday, so I`m guessing he`s drinking his problems away."
Really, Edvon was a werewolf. One she had been told to kill. The government thinks that he had killed numerous people, so they needed someone to kill him. She had been told to come to Heavens and ask around. Someone was bound to know him. She knew enough about the creatures to know that they liked their sex.
So, in the spirit of work, she looked back up at the man and took a half step forward that could very well be just a shifting of her weight.

If he hadn't been laid that night already, Luke might have taken more interest in the woman's subtle advance. But as it was - it was still the week of the full moon, and he was horny as hell. The smell of her burned stronger, and the desire to stand again and move foreword, himself, itched. It took a few short reality checks to keep him in line.
"I know him."
He knew Edvon Markis - he was from the red pack, and an Irish fellow. A fellow that Luke had never known to ever owe money to anybody. So in that respect, Luke gave no more. He took a tantalizing drink of his beer, and adverted his gaze from the drawing, hugging hemline of her dress. He loved blondes. Damn it.
"How much did he owe you?"

*Damn.* Samantha cursed in her mind. Edvon didn`t owe her money, she just needed to kill him because he killed two young girls during the last full moon. This wans`t going to be as easy as she hoped, of course, not much was in her profession.
"Well, a lot. Over two thousand." The number was off the top of her head, obviously. She didn`t know much about Edvon Markis, just what the government gave her. They didn`t give her a ton of information, claiming that they didn`t want their workers getting attatched to the people that they were supposed to kill.
And she could tell that Luke was holding himself back somewhat. He was a were, that much she was sure of. It was the week of the full moon, he was at this club, he had presented interest in her. That may not sound too obvious to some, but it was her job to know. Her job to notice.
She shifted her weight back again, looking down at her feet as if she was not too pleased at admitting owing someone money. Her light eyes locked on a spot on the floor, just in front of Luke`s left foot.

Luke knew Edvon, but only slightly. Even so, he didn't really think the guy was the owe someone and split type. Given, Luke didn't even know the type of women the guy liked, but he felt himself becoming less and less charitable. This blonde... Not only did she want to talk to him about someone else, but she was looking down, too? Flattery got you everywhere in this town.
"Haven't seen him."
Luke didn't know if it was the beer talking, souring in his belly, or if it was his own attitude just naturally drowning down the drain. He took another beer off a passing waiter's serving platter, popped the top, and took another pull. Swallowing purposefully. She was here to see that guy. Well, hell, he'd find someone to talk to that was pretty interested in Luke Anders, damn it.
He turned, starting off in another direction
"Good luck, I guess."
With that, Lukas purposefully began to ignore her, stalking off toward an exit.

"Haven`t seen him. Good luck, I guess."
Samantha sighed and put a hand on her hip, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she did so. "Well, damn it all. I was really hoping someone here would know him. Preferably someone who could threaten him, or something." She sighed and crossed her arms.
"Well, thanks for your help, I guess. Sorry for bothering you." Sam added quickly as he turned away, smiling sweetly. Turning on her heel she started to walk away.

"Sorry for bothering me?"
Stopping short, Lukas turned and spoke after her. Perhaps it was the liquor, or perhaps he had just been in a poor mood all day anyway, but the taste in his mouth suddenly went sour. Her sweet as honey smile only served to piss him off further.
"You know, it's not very common for humans like you to be meddling with wolves like Edvon," Lucas murmured darkly, his tones reaching her through the music. He set his beer on a nearby table, his broad shoulders tightening slightly. Moving toward her, his eyes flickered over her form. He stopped but an inch away from her form, head dipping slightly for she was a bit shorter than he. "Are you a fan of the furrier race or are you simply on the hunt?"

She had just been waiting for him to say something, hoping and half-expecting that he would. At first she though he would just turn and leave her there and a small wave of disappointment washed over her. Having people walk away from her--no, having creatures walk away from her made her feel entirely useless. Normally the only people walking away from her were way too human or dying.
"Sorry for bothing me?"
The low voice cut right to her under the high, pulsing beat of the electro-poppy music that was playing. She grinned to herself quickly then forced her face into a serious glare and turned around. Her heels made a sharp snapping noise as she faced him. Suddenly he was right in front of her. She could feel his breath hit her face as he spoke.
"Hmm. We're all on the hunt, aren't we?" Sam hummed, batting her eyelashes slowly. "Always searching for things we don't have. Money, love, a lover. What about you? Have you been "on the hunt" recently?" The air quotes were clear in her tone. Slowly she moved her hands so they were on his chest; maybe not the smartest move, but whatever. She could take care of herself.
