Jin made a meandering circle around the park, fists deep in his pockets and his collar high against the icy breeze chilling the back of his head. His hair was buzz cut short though his face hadn’t seen a shave in a while, and the rings around his somber eyes gave his mood away. He was exhausted. Worked all week, and now the boss man wanted him to do rounds in the park because there might possibly be activity here?
Ugh. He would have much preferred picking up a Whopper at Burger King, then going home and diving into bed. His footsteps were quiet. Quiet enough, that when a twig snapped nearby and leaves crunched, he heard it, and he instantly went into the defensive. Who, or what, could it be now?!
With a sigh, Jin muttered "Typical," and started off toward the noise.

He twisted his face in frustration. Stupid dog, stupid ball, stupid bush, stupid bloody park.. he wanted to curse loudly, but he figured he was making enough noise as it was, flailing round in a bush by himself, adding cursing to himself loudly, and if his normal run of luck and he'd end up committed somewhere. He could see the damn ball, he couldn't see why Beau couldn't reach it but the dog had come up empty every time he'd gone into the bush, and Alex's patience with the brute only went so far. So when his hand came up with a drool covered ball clutched safely between his fingers he finally curse the dog out loud. Said dog cocked his head to the side where it was resting on his front paws. Well at least someone was finding this trip to the park relaxing.
He'd decided to kill two birds with one stone tonight, getting a bit of flying in the darkness, hopefully slyly enough not to draw attention, and get 100 + pounds of bullmastiff away from the house, so tomorrow he could search for a job, without worrying about his deposit. He sighed, why was his life never simple? Despite the inclement weather he was dressed in sweats, sneakers, and a backless hoodie, as he wasn't exactly expecting to see anyone tonight. He'd wrapped his tee round beau's collar for ease of transportation, and had be throwing the ball from the sky every so often, but otherwise watching the dog do his stuff from afar, enjoying being buffeted by the wind high above, he'd seen a man and few kids round the park, but remained unseen. He cursed tumbling out of the bush with the least grace possible, before stretching up right and trying to regain some dignity.

The last thing Jin Krauser needed was another psycho on the loose. It would just ruin his shitty day. As he rounded the path the jiggling bush came into view, a man's hind-end in view. A dog lay on the ground near him, eyes lazily watching what had to be his master. Jin blinked at the scene, then slowly drew his firearm - a short handgun with enough power to knock any human or Non alike into oblivion - and aimed it on the stranger. He noted the backless hoodie, and the strange dog attire - it could only mean one thing. He had to be a creature. The man finally rolled back out of the bush, and Jin tightened his grip on his gun, eyeing the stranger.
"Put your hands where I can see them, stranger," he said in low, calm tones. "A little late to be in the park, dontcha think?"

He straightened at the sound of the man behind him. The noise of a weapon, the demand of the sight of his hands. So cop or gun freak? Ah such a fun question to be asking this early in the night. He heard Beau whine and shuffle, and lifted his hands. Slowly turning to the man. With a somewhat weak smile. He was pretty sure he had bits of tree in his hair. Beau was now stood, regarding his master and this new human carefully. Alex always knew deep down in side Beau had a brain, and was so glad he hadn't growled or barked yet. "Down."
He said firmly as Beau started to moved towards him, keeping his fingers extended to the man, except his left thumb and pinky which held the ball, which he nodded to, and slowly placed on the floor before standing up fully. "Erm walking my dog? Your excuse?" He tried humor weakly, wishing he was a less trusting creature and had some kind of defense available.

The man pulled himself out of the bush and Jin bit down a laugh at the twigs and debris caught in his clothes and hair. The man turned around, ball in hand and dog moving to his legs, and Jin gave a curt nod. The cool steel pressed a reminder into his calloused palms, and he lowered his gun. However, he neither flicked the safety on or put it away.
"Who walks their blasted dog in the middle of the night?" he said forwardly, blatantly ignoring the question directed at him.
Sighing, his blue eyes scanning around them for a moment, Jin slid his thumb over the safety of his gun and slipped it into the holster hidden beneath his nylon jacket at his waist. His hands rested on either of his hips, his hard frown softened slightly as he assessed the man before him. He didn't look like the psycho he was looking for, anyway.
"Someone got themselves murdered in the park earlier this evening. I'm the lucky fellow who gets to keep looking for him."
His sharp, intuitive gaze moved from the man's dog to his face, having duly noted the guy's ragged clothes. "Haven't seen anything curious, have you? From, you know, up there?" He jabbed a thumb skyward, hoping his guess was correct.

He watched as the gun slowly made a disappearance which he was grateful for. He'd seen and used enough guns in his life time to not relish when they dictated conversation. Never a happy ending he found. He ran a hand through his hair and dislodged the twigs he could feel there and shrugged his shoulders.
"People who are busy in the day?" He said with just a little hint of sarcasm and a little grin. He frowned at the mention of the murder, and then dismissed it, not like he knew anyone around here. Then he mildly scolded himself for clearly being a selfish bastard, a murder was a murder, and he seemed to be involved anyhow. "Ah so cop rather then psycho, good to know."
He watched the man's quick surveillance of him patiently, scanning over him back. The tired discipline and attitude made it hard to mistake the man for anything other then an enforcement officer once you knew what you were looking for.
"Depends one what you think is curious. Mostly we stick away from people." He scratched his chin, some would have shot him for his wings, others for his money this time of night. "Couple of teenagers, but they left about half an hour back... a shifter I think? Looked like they were heading home or something?"
He cocked his head as he considered the man. Pretty accurate guess, though he supposed the fact his t-shirt was around the dogs collar, and he was happy enough with his back exposed in the current inclement weather would be enough to tip anyone educated off. He shivered. "Didn't see much, had a coat on, and work boots. Shifted human when they got to the street." He shrugged. Not like he stalked people from the air, all he knew was it was an animal, then it wasn't, he hadn't really been close or that interested.
