Alex smiled as he walked down the dark street, he'd flow here and landed a few blocks over, fairly well hidden, no one had noticed, he'd landed on an apartment buildings roof and simply walked down the stairs calm as anything. Now with his shirt and tee back on he was feeling pretty good, a couple beers and a pizza since speaking to Sam earlier, even had fitted in a conversation with his brother on the pay phone down the road from his apartment. It had been good, he was feeling positive.
Wearing dark blue jeans which were snug in all the right places with out making him look like a man slut. His tee was tight across his fair chest and shoulders. His shirt was plain dark green over dark charcoal. He thought he scrubbed up quite nicely. He stopped outside the Metro, and lit up a cigarette and took a nice slow drag as he lent all the wall, up a bit from the entrance and bouncers. He waited happily, enjoying watching all the girls and boys pass by, appreciating some more then others.
Running a hand through his shower fresh hair, which was dry, and he had mussed, somewhat artfully. Before rubbing it down over his chin, which was starting to feel rough since his shave this morning.

The night was almost perfect. If it could have just been ten degrees or so warmer, it would be to much better. Samantha couldn`t help but be freezing as she was walking down the street. She had on nice dark jeans and a coat over her favorite red top, but cold just didn`t work for her. She was more than happy when she finally saw Alex leaning against the wall. How had she managed to run into-- literally-- such a nice guy?
"Hey," she said as she neared him, "I`m glad you found it." She nodded towards the building, then looked towards the line. It wasn`t too long, thankfully. She could usually just go right up to the front of lines and flash her gov ID; it had gotten to the point a month or so back where she could just go in, she had that much work. The old bouncers knew her, but they got rotated around every so often to prevent that very thing.
"They don`t look too busy tonight," she added, now heading towards the line.

He smiled as she approached. "Yup easy, quite simple to spot from a good vantage point." He smiled happily walking beside her, bounce in his step. "You look nice." He said casually as they made their way to the line. He pulled her in to a half hug as they walk, arm slung around her shoulder casually giving a squeeze before dropping it. "It's good to see you again." He had decided long ago, that he couldn't help it if he was a hands on, friendly guy, and people would just have to learn to deal with it.
"Nah, not packed, but I've seen a good load of people go in, so should be a decent night at the least." He said relaxedly. "If not, we can always go hit up a bar or something."

"Thanks. You look nice too," Sam replied, returning the one-arm hug. "I`m glad I finally found someone to show around. Been here two years, and everybody new seems to learn the area pretty fast." She paused, thinking a moment. "Don`t you have a better view when you fly?"
The line wasn`t very long, and by the time they had wandered up to it there were even less people in it. That was odd. Maybe everyone else was at Heavens or something. The night was young, things could still happen. Sam thought of the weapons she had on hand. There were two daggers strapped to each of her legs and one on her side. There was a small but powerfull gun in her jacket lining, then a slightly bigger one in her purse. Really, that wasn`t a lot compared to how many she could have. When things were busy, she was decked out and it was quite complicated to move. Having so few weapons made her feel both safer and more vunerable. There was a lesser chance an immortal might feel she was a threat, but if she did need to take care of something she wouldn`t be as prepared.
"It`s actually not so bad out."

He shrugged with a half smile as she returned the compliment, snorting a bit. He decided he wasn't bad looking, but not someone everyone was going to be falling over to night "I try, you know the whole windswept looks. Hours of straightening, but then poof, I step out my window, and half a can of hair spray is wasted." He laughed with a wink, running his hand through his hair. "Yeah, s'how I got here, normally set down a few blocks away, to avoid trouble and wander over.. saves on hair drying as well."
He looked at her with a smile, she seemed to be thinking, so he decided mindless chatter might be good. "Yeah, over the years I've found new cities are easier then new towns and county places..." He shrugged. "But here? Beautiful to fly... not scared of heights are you?" He smiled to her excitedly. "After here I could show you."
He looked at the queue. "Yeah, should be fun, anyway, got good company. Could be anywhere right now and it would be fun. It's all about people not places."

Sam smiled and angled her body towards his. Not only was she trying to advert other`s attention to her, but she really was interested in what Alex had to say. He was basically her only friend, and she had no intention of being rude.
"I can see where flying would be a problem, but it sounds fascinating. Won`t I be... too heavy or something for you to fly with?" His offer to take her flying seemed too good to be true. She was curious, and she had always loved the idea of rushing through the air, knowing that you weren`t just going to fall.
"Yeah, should be fun, anyway, got good company. Could be anywhere right now and it would be fun. It's all about people not places."
Samantha actually blushed at that comment. It had been quite a while since someone had a conversation with her and one of them hadn`t ended up injured. Could what he said count as flirting? God, how she wished she had a female friend to talk to about these things.

He shrugged. "Nope... once I'm up its all about air currents, and complicated wing stuff, weight doesn't make to much of a difference at a good height." He smiled easily. "I never used to be any good with take off when I was learning, so my brothers used to carry me up till I learned, so I wouldn't get left behind."
He smiled loosely, before turning and flashing the bouncer his ID as they reached the door, the bouncer held his hand out, disbelieving he was over 21, eyebrow cocked at the drivers license. A fake declaring him 24. His mind was full of memories before the hard times in life.
Nearly a hundred years ago, and the childhood innocence and happiness. He could live for the next seven hundred years he decided and still miss those endless days of laughter, trouble, and hard work. Times were hard, but in a different way. Having to carry coal back from the yard down the road without flying difficult. Learning about air currents and weather patterns with his dad for hours after school, listening to the other kids play difficult. Rather then life and death, war and peace, and adult difficult.
He took back with a grin and stepped into the club. "Later I'll take you up. I promise not to drop you or anything." He winked cheekily. "Drink? It's on me." He nodded to the bar.

Sam also flashed her ID-- also a fake, but real in the sense that it was legal from the gov`t-- and nodded to Alex. "Sure. I suppose I couldn`t talk you out of it, anyway." Her sharp eyes scanned the club; there were quite a few people in there, for how short the line had been. Most of the private tables were taken up and there were about two dozen people out on the dancefloor. Some pop-ish song was playing over the speakers. -I`d have to be drunk to want to listen to that.- Sam though, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. Musis these days was terrible. What had happened to the classical music that she grew up with?
A figure off to one side caught her attention, but only for a moment before she continued looking around. The person had pale, pale skin and seemed a bit too comfortable in here. Immortal, no doubt. Her instincts told her to keep an eye on him, so she instantly found a vanatge point where she could still see him.
"Alex, why don`t we snag that table over there? It won`t laast long with this croud." She motioned to the rest of the room, then to one of the few clear tables.

"Nah, wild horses couldn't stop me, sounds like a plan." He nodded in agreement, seeing her noting a pale figure. He smiled politely and turned Sam. "Sure, what do you want to drink?" He relaxedly, taking in the atmosphere. He looked round, not recognizing anyone so far in here, then again he knew the grand total of three people. The landlord, the little old lady from across the hall and Sam, so that wasn't really a surprise. It didn't really seem like Mrs Tatterstall's kind of scene.
The music assaulting his ears didn't have much but a baseline going for it, but he wasn't fussy. Music had changed a lot in his time. Some changes were good, see Beatles, classic rock, some indy bands, some rock, even a few rap, hip hop and pop. Some were bad, see Pussycat dolls, Cheryl Cole... catchy yet irritating. He found, if you went with the flow, eventually good taste prevails.

She tilted her head slightly to the side, a habit of hers, and thought about his question. It was a simple question, really. What do you want to drink? She didn`t usually drink anything, and if she did it definately wasn`t strong. As a human, she needed all of her senses in perfect condition if she planned on living through the night. Tonight was different, though. Alex was here with her; nothing bad could happen, right?
"Uhm, just get me something fruity and girly-looking, if you don`t mind," she answered, "Surprsie me." Really, she didn`t have much of a taste for alcohol. Oh well, she would drink tonight, and she would enjoy it if it kil-- well, maybe not then. She rather enjoyed living as a first class citizen, killer or not.

He laughed at her choice. "Sure coming right up." He grinned to her, walking to the bar with a bounce to his step. Years of using bar work to pay the bills when needed gave him a long list of girly pink fruity drinks to order. He lent on the bar with a smile to the tenders as he waited to order. Waiting until he had one's attention, which didn't take long. "Corona and a Strawberry Mojito, please." He took the bottle and waited for the cocktail, unfolding the bills onto the bar top. "Thanks.." He grinned, pushing off the bar and skirting the dance floor to sit down across from her occupying most the seat once he'd sat down and spread out.
"Pink, girly, and fruity. A proper girly drink." He smiled, pushing it her way, and having a sip from his bottle, leaning back and resting a hand across the back of the seat. He scanned round the room briefly. Waiting for her to try the drink. He guessed she didn't drink too much, so he decided that a Mojito wouldn't be too bad off, alcoholic, but not over powering.

Sam seated her self at the small table and waited for Alex to return. Her blue-grey eyes scanned the room instinctively-- she couldn`t help it, her training was down deep and locked into her mind. She had lost sight of the pale man she had spotted before, and that troubled her. Thankfull she was against a wall where she could watch the rest of the room, but somewhere in the middle where it would have been obvious.
"Thank you, sir," She replied as Alex brought her the cocktail drink. She took a sip and nodded thoughfully. "Good... Mojito, right?" She flipped her hair over her shoulder and leaned back, angling her body towards his. As an afterthought, she wondered how much the drink was. Not too much-- not in this place-- but still, she felt like she owed him something now. Owing was not something she enjoyed. When you killed for a living, some "small favors" could get pretty complicated.

He grinned to her taking another sip of his beer. "Least I could do considering I basically mowed you down earlier..." He smiled broadly, just letting his emotions show openly on his face. Sure he could hide things, keeps secrets and be mysterious with the best of them, he just currently didn't feel the need. Flipping his fringe over with a flick of his head. "Yup, strawberry. Thought I wouldn't get you something too toxic..." He laughed a little bit.
"It's a nice city this, wasn't too sure what to expect coming here, but it's been nice so far." He said relaxedly.

She nodded slowly, carefully swirling the glass in her right hand. There were a lot of questions she wanted to ask Alex, but she was afraid of getting annoying or whatever. It wasn`t often she could sit down with an immortal and have a nice conversation. She was really enjoying this.
"I know that this is sort of a subject-change, but what is it like? I mean, what is it like to live for centuries and fly and... just be? Things must be so much different for you. The way you grew up, the changes in the world." She leaned forward and her eyes widened slightly as she spoke. It was a conscious movement-- all of her motions were, they had to be, body language was very important for her and her fellow workers-- but she really felt the curiosity behind it. What must it be like to have such a long life?

He took a gulp of beer, before focusing on the table, fingers scratching at and slowly peeling off the label. Pondering the answer, thinking it through. He under stood her curiosity, it was something he was faced with on a daily basis. Curiosity was better the hostility.
"Flying is..." He grinned to her, finding words to express it difficult. "Flying is essential. Like breathing. I don't understand how you lot live without it." He said, sure he'd expressed himself adequately. "It's an itch, a burn, an essential need, without it, you always feel it's loss. Under your skin, behind you eyelids, itching in you finger tips, like stretching out after a cramp, the need to just unfurl my wings and soar. I've never gone long without it."
He took another sip of his beer, peeling the label off further once he was done, the condensation making it damp and fragile. "As for the life span thing? I don't really know any different." He stopped again for a few moments, lifting his eyes from the table, showing the green glittering with life, passion, emotion, just brimming with feelings and meeting her gaze.
"You learn, you adapt, you move on, you carry on. You change... I'm not that old, 113 years about... but I've changed so much. Events that make you grow as a person, well I've seen a lot more then you ever will, no offense. By the time I was 48? I'd fought in both world wars, lost a brother, and a lot of friends." He took a deep breath. "And my life is only just starting... for a fallen? I'm still a kid basically, my mother is 684 years old, and my father was nearly 800 when he died."
He looked at the table again. "Sorry, bit of an overload there.."
