"Out of here, brother." Xaver's tones were harsh as they were cold, the blues of his dark eyes the only window to the sudden weariness he felt deep in his chest. Xences stood toe to toe with him, his twin a hair shorter and form mostly hidden in the shadows of the end private table of the Metro. "What, brother, are you happy here? Your little redhead whore making it all-" he was cut off as Xaver dug his fists into his shirt and shoved him, inches from the floor, into the nearest pillar. The stone crunched slightly beneath the enormous force of angry impact, dust shaking loose from above them and littering their shoulders and matching onyx colored hair. Xences laughed as Xaver tightened his grip, knowing his slightly older twin was only a twinge of reason away from throwing him across the nearest table, the sound cutting off as Xaver moved a hand to his throat. He lifted Xences by the neck and moved them to the end of the building, kicking open the black-painted emergency exit door with enough force to splinter the hinges and throwing him out into the puddle-ridden alleyway. "I said get the fuck out of here, Xences," Xaver hissed in their native tongue. "Out of Lenity, out of St. Luthor, and the fuck out of my life." Xences had landed on his back in a puddle and was now kneeling, wings spread, a look of loathing stretching into a snarl that could have curdled blood. "This conversation isn't over, brother," was all he said in return, pumping his wings. Xaver reached out and grabbed him before he could fly away, fingers digging deep into the feathery flesh of his wing. He wrenched Xences unceremoniously back to earth. "It is. And, Xences, leave her alone. If I hear.." Xaver drew a breath to calm himself, the torrent of fury so close to the surface all but consuming him. "Don't even think it, you understand?" Xences snarled at him, though the expression changed to a furious pain as Xaver squeezed harder on the delicate bones in his wing. "I said," he growled, tones low, "Do you understand?" "Fuck, yes, okay, she won't be touched.." Xaver released his twin and shoved him away, never turning his back until the other had disappeared into the rainy abyss above.
He spat where he had been, hissing a stream of curses as he rounded the corner of the alleyway and into the near empty street. Most naturally avoided his dark aura as he tucked his hands into his pockets and made his way toward home, keeping his ocean-like blue eyes focused on the pavement..

She had seen Xences take off, instantly recognizing one half of the twin Princes she had grown up with. It was only moments when she caught sight if Xaver storming down the street. All of Lenity knew there was something going on between Xaver and Xences, but this was the first sign if that reality.
Callie saw Xaver, and saw how upset he seemed. She called out his name.
"Xav! Xaver! Wait up."
In her black high heeled boots and red party dress, Callie took off running after Xaver.

"Xav!"
Xaver visibly winced, lucky for manners sake that he was facing the other way from the feminine voice that in his mood sounded grossly shrill. He knew instantly who it was, but he didn't slow for her. Callie was the only in this world that called him 'Xav' anymore besides his sister, and he figured she could catch up.
"Xaver, wait up!"
Feeling like an ass when he didn't only soured his mood more, so Xaver slowed slightly, clenching his fists in the pockets of his coat and digging his nails into his palms to focus on something more grounded than his crazy sibling.
When her heeled steps caught up to him, he nodded to her in greeting. Never taking his eyes from the murky sidewalk.
"Yes?" His tones eyes clipped in an effort to be polite.

"Wow, you are fast!"
Callie had trouble catching her breath when she finally caught up with Xaver. She matched her pace with his. She gave herself a moment to look him over. On a normal day, Xaver was quite the attractive man. Pissed off, he was steaming.
"I saw Xences hit the skies." She nodded towards the stormt sky.
She was silent for a moment, "You look stressed. Come out with me, ill buy you a drink." She held her breath, hoping he wouldn't turn her down. She gave him a small flirty smile.

"I saw Xences hit the skies."
Xaver looked up as she said it, scowling at the clouds and in a mood to simply hate everything. He could hear the distant beat of wings even through the voice of the city, and anger stirred again.
Her invitation caught him slightly off guard and he blinked at her for a moment, finally bringing his turbulent blue to meet her gaze. The flirty smile that once used to turn on so much within him blew by without notice - and Xaver did notice that. He had been seeing Ginny for a few weeks but for him to suddenly not take notice of another attractive female was something else entirely.
"Yes, sure."

Xaver agreed to get a drink, and Callie let out her held breath. Momentarily fidgeting her composure she grasped his hand and began to literally pull him towards the bar.
"It's on me."
Callie had had a crush on Xaver for as long as she could remember. There had been political pressure behind it, but over the years it had become a real feeling.

Her small hand grasped his and he let himself be pulled foreword, towards another bar and away from the transgressions of earlier. The more he thought about his brother the more pissed off he got.. If Callie was going to try to remedy his mood despite his sour attitude, then why not let her. His dark blue orbs followed the back of her pretty head, smiling wolfishly at her words. Not terribly long ago he might have made a raunchy retort to that. Again, what was wrong with him? Raunchy retorts were on the fucking menu.
"What else will be on you?"
He was grinning as they entered the bar. They made an attractive couple, her shiny blond hair clinging to the front of his coat as he had to move close to push through the heavy lunchtime crowd. The Metro was popular anytime of the day, and mealtimes especially. How easy was it to sneak away and play on break?
He pressed his free hand to the small of her back and slowly led them to a far table.

Callie bit her lip at his joke, and walked to the table. What else would be on her? If he only knew what she wanted...
"I'll buy lunch if you want me to."
She settled into her seat, watching him close, remembering what she knew about body language. He seemed open, inviting. Maybe this was her chance.

"That would be great."
Xaver settled across from her as he undid the black stone buttons of his coat, shuffling it off his wide shoulders as he did and dropping it onto the seat next to him. He wore an off-white button up, and rolled the sleeves casually to his elbows as he looked over the table at her.
The storm that was coursing itself through his veins was enough to give him a fuck-all attitude. Fuck his brother. Fuck this day. ..And what the fuck was happening to him? He had never felt in his soul such confusion about potential mates... Fuck that too.
The waitress passed them by and Xaver ordered a hard drink on the rocks. The woman waited for Callie's order, then nodded wistfully and sauntered away.

Callie leaned across the table, keeping eye contact. She gave him a dazzling smile. "You look good, Xaver. As always."
She let her voice drop a bit, she let the tone cross aine she usually crept close to but had never before crossed. She wanted to make sure he caught her drift.

Her smile was radiant, beautiful, and it stirred nothing beneath the wall of his chest. He took his drink from the waitress's tray as she spoke, taking a long pull but never letting his dark blue gaze fall from her pretty face. He set the drink down, glass chinking as it hit the wood of the table, and gave a wide smile.
"And you look gorgeous, Cal."
He leaned back, more comfortably in his plush seat. "What brings you to this part of town? Isn't your pretty tail better suited for the better parts of St. Luthor?"
He tilted his head to the side slightly, eyes flickering over her in an entirely unabashed manner. He had long put her off, and on the sidelines, but he suddenly doubted those thoughts. Even as looked though, eyes slowly returning to her face, a flash of red hair teased his memories. Guilt, that he didn't understand. Sure, he and Ginny had a connection, but.. she was human.. What WAS this?

She let out a low laugh, "Nothing, to be honest. I just have nothing to do with my days here, so I wander the city."
Callie had never held a real job. Her father had always guaranteed that she had every single thing she could ever need.
"What have you been up to, hmm?" She twirled a lock if her hair around her finger, stirring her drink with her other hand.

Xaver downed the rest of his drink and sucked in a breath at the strength of it, feeling himself calm slightly as the whiskey warmed his stomach.
"Oh, you know," he said lightly, putting off her question, like he was always apt to do when he didn't want to answer. "Little of this, little of that.." He shrugged a well-muscled shoulder, then grinned at his own coyness. Waiving a few fingers at the waitress to order another drink, he leaned his elbows on the table, crossing his forearms just over his tattoo. Never one to sit still wherever he was.
"What are you doing tonight?"

He asked if she had plans, and inwardly she squealed with delight. Was he asking because he wanted to ask her out this evening? She was careful to hide her enthusiasm.
"Oh, I was going to go out with a few friends I've made here, but that can easily be canceled."
She kept he voice even and gave him another smile, hoping he would ask her to cancel her plans.

Xaver caught her smile and returned it with a small one of his own. Hating that he had to fake it. It tilted his lips and slightly the corners of his almond shaped eyes, but never lit up the blue oceans or set fire to his confused soul. He didn't understand the course his feelings were taking and, with little knowledge of how to deal with internal turmoil of that kind, he balked at it.
"If you would, I am still in need of a date for a black tie benefit tower tonight. I would provide you a ticket."
